Nocerino and Raymond Re-Elected North Massapequa Fire Commissioners
Longtime Commissioner and New Appointee ran unopposed
A veteran North Massapequa fire Commissioner and a new appointee both earned new terms on Tuesday.
Longtime Commissioner Frank Nocerino was elected to a five year term, while Ralph Raymond will serve a one year term on the board.
Both men ran unopposed. Nocerino received 101 votes, while Raymond took 97 votes, according to the department secretary. The department serves parts of the Massapequas and parts of Seaford.
Raymond was appointed to the post following the death of Commissioner John Erickson in June and he will now serve the final year of that term .
He will have the opportunity to run for a full five year term in 2014.
