PHOTOS: Police Wage Tug-of-War Battle for Charity

Fifth annual Long Island Police Tug-of-War Championship held at Jones Beach to benefit Wounded Warrior Project.

The Nassau and Suffolk County police departments waged a tug-of-war battle against each other for charity this past Friday evening at in Wantagh.

The fifth annual Long Island Police Tug-of-War Championship was held in front of the Jones Beach Boardwalk Bandshell and benefited the Wounded Warrior Project. The event was hosted by radio personalities Roger and JP of WBAB 102.3.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
