Police: Man in Critical Condition After Assault at Merrick Road Saloon

Detectives investigating Sunday night assault at Bullitt’s Saloon on Bellmore-Wantagh border that left three men with head injuries including one in critical condition.

Nassau County Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an assault at a saloon located along the Bellmore-Wantagh border Sunday night that left three men with head injuries including one in critical condition.

According to detectives, Seventh Precinct police officers responded to Bullitt’s Saloon at 2955 Merrick Road at around 10:25 p.m. Sunday night for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police discovered three male victims, ages 47, 42 and 38 who had sustained head injuries. 


The victims were all transported to an area hospital where the 47 year old and 38 year old were treated and released. The 42 year old victim was admitted with a fractured skull, broken jaw and broken ribs. He is listed in critical condition.

An extensive search of the area around the saloon was conducted by officers from the Seventh Precinct, First Precinct, Bureau of Special Operations, Canine and Aviation Bureau with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.
