Police Officer Involved in Seaford Accident

Nassau County police car hits another vehicle on Jackson Avenue while en route to a call in the area.

A Nassau County police officer was involved in a minor automobile accident Wednesday evening in Seaford while en route to a call in the area.

The accident occurred on Jackson Avenue between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway just after 6 p.m. An officer at the scene said detectives are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, which was with another car.

The police officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

From the looks of it, the police officer either skidded into the car, or backed into it. Either way, the important thing is that no one was seriously hurt.
