Police Seek Suspect in Wantagh Bank Robbery

Man flees scene on foot with stolen cash.

Police are searching for a man who robbed TD Bank in Wantagh Friday afternoon.

According to detectives, a male subject entered TD Bank, located at 3222 Sunrise Hwy., around 4 p.m. and demanded money from the teller. The man then fled on foot with the cash. He was seen heading westbound on Sunrise Highway and then south on Jones Avenue. Thirteen employees and six customers were present in the bank at the time of the robbery.

No injuries were reported.

The subject is described as a male black, dark complexion, 30-40 years of age, 5’10” tall, wearing a baby blue baseball hat, tinted glasses, white shirt, dark waist length jacket and jeans.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Wantagh is not getting any worse, the bank is in the near proximity to a parkway. The guy probably had a car waiting on Jones Ave. for a quick getaway up the Wantagh Parkway, period.

Tom, I am offended from your comments about other people. Although they do not live in this town, non-Wantagh residents are not "crap" and should not be stated as such. I'm surprised the editor has not blocked you by now.
