An accident that closed Sunrise Highway in Seaford Sunday night was fatal, Nassau County police said.
Andrew Tax, 68 was behind the wheel of a 1988 Oldsmobile that was struck by a 2012 Honda at 7p.m.
He was hit by a 2012 Honda driven by a 47-year old man traveling west on the highway just past the Seaford-Massapequa border.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Washington Avenue.
Tax was pronounced dead at 7:49 p.m., police said. THe other driver was taken to a local hospital, but was expected to recover.
He was not charged. Both veheicles were impounded for safety inspections.
