Police: Teens Robbed in Massapequa Preserve

Two males arrested on robbery, other charges.

Two teenaged boys were allegedly robbed in the Massapequa Preserve Saturday night, according to Nassau police.

According to detectives, two male victims ages 16 and 19 entered the Massapequa Preserve located on Lakeview Avenue and Boston Avenue and was approached by two male defendants.

A 17-year-old defendant from Amityville displayed a three-inch gravity knife and demanded property from the 16-year-old victim, police stated. The victim then gave the defendant his black knapsack containing a credit card and keys.

Another defendant, Boden Woelk, 20, of Amityville threatened the 19-year-old victim with physical force and after fearing for his safety, gave the defendant $10.

The defendants fled the scene in a black Ford Crown Victoria in an unknown direction. Subsequent investigation lead to the arrests of both subjects at Burger King located on Sunrise Highway in Seaford. There were no reported injuries.

The 17-year-old defendant is being charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Woelk is being charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery.

They will be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.
