Police Tug-of-War Championship on Tap for Jones Beach Friday Evening

Proceeds from event to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

A spirited tug-of-war competition between the Nassau and Suffolk County police departments is slated for the sands of  in Wantagh Friday evening in the name of charity.

The fifth annual Long Island Police Tug-of-War Championship is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Jones Beach Boardwalk Bandshell by Parking Field 4. The competition will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

The event, which is free to the public, will be hosted by Radio personalities Roger and JP of WBAB 102.3 and feature raffle prizes. Following the competition, the AC/DC tribute band Live Wire will perform in the Jones Beach Boardwalk Bandshell.
