Police: Wantagh Teens Stole 19 Bongs

Two 16-year-olds were arrested for November crime.

Two Wantagh teenagers were arrested Saturday and Sunday for an alleged November burglary during which the duo stole 19 bongs.

According to detectives, around 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 1, the two 16-year-old male defendants broke the front window of Twisted Glass, located at 1898 Wantagh Ave. The defendants then entered the closed business and removed 19 artisan glass tobacco pipes (bongs).

Police say the value of the bongs was more than $10,000.

A two-month investigation led to the arrest of one defendant on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

Both defendants are charged with burglary in the third degree. The first defendant was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. The second defendant will be arraigned Monday.
