A raging car fire created a traffic nightmare Wednesday morning on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.
Bethpage firefighters arrived to find a Toyota Rav 4 fully engulfed in flames in the northbound lanes of Route 135 near Hempstead Turnpike.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and there were no reports of injuries.
The fire brought northbound traffic to a standstill, stretching through Farmingdale and back toward Merrick Road. Southbound traffic was also slowed.
