Two Pedestrians Struck Crossing Sunrise Highway

Police say two female victims suffered head injuries in the accident.

Two female pedestrians suffered head trauma after they were struck while crossing Sunrise Highway early Sunday morning.

According to Nassau County Police, the pair was crossing near Wantagh Avenue shortly after midnight when they were struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway. Both victims were transported to an area hospital.

The incident occurred at the same intersection where 14-year-old pedestrian in September 2010.

Police report no apparent criminality in connection with this accident.
