Wantagh Bank Teller Charged with Forging Customer's Signature

Accused of stealing from elderly customer.

A teller in a Wantagh bank was arrested Friday afternoon for stealing about $32,000 from an 82-year-old customer Nassau County police said.

Osbourne Heron, 26, of Roosevelt, who works at Investors Bank on Wantagh Avenue, allegedly filled our withdrawal slips in the victims's name while forging the victim's signature.

He filled out bogus bank slips nine times between July and September, cops said.

The victim discovered a discrepancy in the account and the bank conducted an internal investigation.

Heron was arrested without incident at 12:48 p.m. at the bank. Heron was charged with grand larceny and forgery.
