Wantagh Man Charged With Attempted Robbery of Uniondale 7-Eleven

Police report that Frank A Andriani confronted clerk at store early Saturday morning and is arrested a short time later.

A Wantagh man was arrested and charged early Saturday morning with attempting to rob a 7-Eleven store in Uniondale with his face covered.

According to detectives, Frank A Andriani, 24, of Wantagh entered into the Seven Eleven store located on 1275 Front St. in Uniondale at 1:10 a.m. Saturday wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and an orange bandanna covering his face. Andriani approached the 24-year old male victim who was working as a clerk and produced a folding knife while demanding money, police said. He then became fearful and fled on foot out of the store without any proceeds, according to authorities.

The victim was able to call police and provide them with a description of Andriani. First Precinct Police a short time later observed the defendant driving a 2007 Acura south on Laclede Avenue. He was stopped and placed into custody without incident, police said.

A search incident to arrest Andriani revealed a Suboxone pill was observed in his vehicle's center console, according to police. No injuries were reported.

Andriani is charged with first-degree attempted robbery, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.

@ Joann, let me guess, you're his friend/mom/sister/cousin in denial. Let me also guess, he was just chatting with the 7-11 clerk, not actually trying to rob him? And that knife? What knife! He had no weapon, it's all a conspiracy theory. And of course - he should sue them for lots of money! How dare anyone try to make accusations about a possible drug addiction, that's way more important than the fact that he committed armed robbery..., ahh, the self-entitlement of upper middle class straight white men, it never ceases to amaze me.

Yes, he was charged with 3 crimes. He may be innocent until proven guilty, but he is on film committing armed robbery, it's not going to take much for a jury to convict him on all 3 charges. Suboxone is a medication used to treat opiate addictions, the addiction probably being the reason he robbed the 7-11. Also how would they sue for using personal health information, when no medical records were illegally accessed? Check your logic lady, have a nice day.
