Wantagh Woman Charged with DWI after Southern State Parkway Crash

State Police said Stephanie Quinones had blood alcohol content of .09 percent following collision near exit 21.

A 21-year old Wantagh woman was arrested by police Sunday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly crashing her car into another vehicle on the Southern State Parkway.

According to New York State police, Stephanie Quinones of Wantagh was driving her Pontiac westbound on the Southern State Parkway near exit 21 in Roosevelt when she struck a Honda at 11:28 a.m. Sunday. The collision caused Quinones to lose control of her Pontiac and strike the center median guide rail, police said. 

State police said Quinones had a blood alcohol content of 0.09 percent. Quinones was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic violations. She will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
