Shirley Rainey, who resides in the Maryhaven Center of Hope in Wantagh, has been found nearly 24 hours after a Silver Alert had been issued for the missing 60-year old woman.
The Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) announced at 9:45 p.m. that Rainey has been located.
The NCPD issue a Silver Alert for Rainey at 2:23 a.m. A spokesman for the Maryhaven Center of Hope, which has a Wantagh location on Burns Avenue, said Thursday morning that Rainey had last been seen being evaluated at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow at around 1:30 a.m.
The Silver Alert Program is a county-wide law enforcement program which helps locate missing persons with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders.
