Wife of 'Missing' Swimmer Gets Order of Protection

Evana Roth also seeks divorce from her husband Raymond.

The wife of the at Jones Beach but later turned up alive in Florida obtained an order of protection against him Monday, her lawyer said.

Evana Roth also says she wants a divorce.

"He lied, he faked his death, he snapped," Roth said, when asked why she was seeking the order, at a press conference at her lawyer's office in Carle Place.

"We explained to the court that Mrs. Roth has been the subject of abuse for 12 years," the lawyer Lennard Leeds said.

The order prohibits Raymond Roth from going near his wife as well as her home and place of work. He will be allowed to enter the home once with a police escort to gather his belongings.

He was also ordered by a Nassau Family Court judge to surrender any firearms he might have.

The husband was the subject of an intense search on July 28 before it was . He has not been charged with any crime yet.

His current whereabouts are unknown. Evana Roth said she has not heard from her husband since he sent a text message just before

Leeds said that he was also planning to file a matrimonial action on behalf of his client, who is seeking a divorce.

When asked if there was any chance of reconciliation, Evana said, "Absolutely not...it's over!"

The wife also claimed her husband was abusive.

"He just had a history of being violent," she said. "I've been married to him for 12 years and there's been a long time of just violence and verbal abuse."

At her first press conference, Roth released emails she said were exchanged between her husband and his son from a previous marriage. In one email sent the day before he was reported missing, Raymond Roth appeared to be planning a trip and asked his son to call him at a resort in two days.

The son, that he never saw the emails and also fears for his safety since he reported Roth missing, foiling his plans.

"It's all lies," said Evana Roth about the son's claims. "He's been lying since he was a child."

Leeds said that his client was cooperating with the law enforcement investigation and said he'd been told Mrs Roth is not a target.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.
