Woman's Purse Robbed in Pathmark Parking Lot

A woman’s purse was snatched in the parking lot in Seaford Thursday afternoon by an operator of a black vehicle, police said.

According to detectives, a 54-year-old female was walking through the parking lot of Pathmark located at 4055 Merrick Road when the operator of a black vehicle drove slowly alongside and grabbed her purse. The victim was knocked to the ground when the vehicle fled northbound on Washington Avenue and suffered a contusion to the head. She did not need immediate medical attention.

The victim’s purse was recovered northbound on the Wantagh State Parkway by a passerby at around 2:05 p.m. with cash missing.
