Cedar Creek Park Event to Benefit Veterans

Brick 26 Challenge to run on Saturday.

It will look like boot camp and it will benefit local veterans.

The second annual Executive Brick 26 challenge will take place at Cedar Creek Park on Sturday.

The challenge consists of four events that will run simultaneously.

  • A four-mile Road Race which will feature runners carrying five bricks in a backpack and must get by up to nine obstacles.
  • A 5k bootcamper race with participants carrying one to  five bricks and avoiding up to 9 obstackes. Unlike the four mile race, this event is untimed.
  • A 5K straight run, for those who wish to run a timed race without obstacles
  • A one mile honor walk for those who want to support the organization, but do not want to race.
Funds will be donated to non-profit veteran groups including Semper4Soldiers and Boots on the Ground NY, who operates a Veteran Activity Center, designed to meet the needs of our return soldiers with PTSD.

Bricks will be collected at the finish line for a monument to honor Long Island Veterans to be built at Eisenhower Park.
