Election Signs: Time to Take Them Down

Share your thoughts in our Soapbox - Gov't Matters open blog.

Many people have been upset about the number of signs that have remained up after elections conclude, stating that it is the equivalent of litter.

Now that Election Day is over, what do you think is a reasonable time frame for all the political campaign camps to start cleaning up those yard and pole signs used in the campaign? One week? 48 hours?

We posted the above question on Wantagh-Seaford Patch's Facebook page and got the following comments:

  • John Diffley: Immediately!
  • Diane Stephan: 48 hours. Months of being visually assaulted by these signs. So over it.
  • Chinita Sorto: Immediately. And it should be done by volunteers not by county workers and get paid with our tax dollars.
  • Krystina See Torregrossa: 24 hours. I'm tired of them putting 'GRAFFITI" all over. I want and deserve a beautiful town and island.
  • Jack Leone: As soon as possible.
  • Judith Cassaro-Bongiovi: Today.
We want to know what you think is a good time frame to get the signs taken down. Click here or tell us in the comments section below.
