Re-Register for STAR Exemption 

After an audit discovered widespread abuse of the Basic STAR program, all residents must re-register for the exemptions by Dec. 31. Homeowners will receive a letter instructing them to reapply for the Basic STAR program in the coming weeks. Click here for more.

Olympic Skiier to Take Part in Education Program

Olympic Cross Country Skier Kris Freeman will meet with Long Island youngsters who have diabetes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Dave & Busters in Westbury. Freeman, who has Type1 diabetes, will be competing for a Gold Medal at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.
