Fuschillo, NYSP Sponsoring Car Seat Safety Check in Seaford

The free event will be held on Aug. 18.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo Jr., R-Merrick announced Tuesday that he will be partnering with the New York State Police to sponsor a free car seat safety check on Saturday, Aug. 18, in Seaford.

The free car seat safety check will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seaford Train Station parking lot on the northwest corner of Jackson Avenue and Sunrise Highway in Seaford. Officers from the New York State Police will be performing free safety seat inspections to make sure that drivers have their children's car seats properly installed and secured.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children in the United States, but placing children in properly installed age and size appropriate safety seats reduces serious and fatal injuries by more than half, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
