The following is from 5th District Councilwoman Angie Cullin:

Dear Neighbors,

“Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing” -- this quote from our nation’s 26th president has been a personal inspiration throughout my career in public service. As I extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to the voters of the 5th Councilmanic District for re-electing me to the Hempstead Town Board, I pledge that I will hold true to Theodore Roosevelt’s call to action.

It was gratifying to win the support of more than 60 percent of those who voted in the election. However, it is even more rewarding to do work that is making a positive difference for our families. From freezing all town taxes for 2012 and building a new recreation center for children with special needs to pursuing important renewable energy projects and maintaining vital services for our entire population, I am eager to expand upon the progressive policies that Supervisor Kate Murray and I have established.

Again, thank you to the residents of the 5th Councilmanic District for the confidence which you have placed in me. I will continue to “work hard at work worth doing” for all of the people who call Hempstead Town their home.
