Insurance Assistance Available in Seaford Monday

New York State Department of Financial Services bringing its Mobile Command Center to Seaford.

Staff from the New York State Department of Financial Services will be providing insurance assistance from its Mobile Command Center (MCC) in Seaford this Monday to help homeowners and business owners with available relief programs.

The MCC will be at the Seaford Public Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at Seaford Knights of Columbus Hall at 6:30 p.m. for a post-Sandy forum being hosted by the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowners AssociationSome of the issues that will be addressed include:

  • City, state and federal relief programs and how to get help.
  • Questions about the insurance claims process in New York.
  • Seeking resolution on your claims with your insurer or bank.
  • Filing an official complaint against an insurer or bank
  • Onsite access to banks and mortgage servicers who can help with paperwork, release checks (if qualified), and discuss loss mitigation options.

Officials ask that people who visit the MCC bring all relevant documents with them such as correspondence with insurers or banks. Those unable to attend can visit the New York State Disaster Relief website at www.nyinsure.ny.gov or call the the Disaster Relief Hotline at 1-800-339-1759.
