in Wantagh has seen a jump in visitors this year.

Entering Labor Day weekend, 4.2 million had visited Jones Beach in 2012, a 77,624 increase from the same period a year ago. Overall, New York State Parks have seen a 5.6 percent visits increase in 2012 from last year, park officials announced last week.

New York State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey attributed the increase in visits to solid weather as well as a number of well-attended events, including the held on Memorial Day weekend.
