State. Sen. Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City, is partnering with the Wantagh-based (JTCF) to help collect "back to school" supplies for underprivileged children in the Sixth Senatorial District.

"By donating supplies, you are giving hope to a family and providing a brighter future to a child in need," said Senator Hannon.

Supplies accepted must be unused and may include: backpacks, spiral and marble notebooks, loose leaf, binders, crayons, markers, colored pencils, pencils, pencil cases, ballpoint pens, rulers, glue-sticks and scissors. Community members can drop-off any supplies to Senator Hannon's Community Office located at 595 Stewart Ave, Suite 540 in Garden City. The last day to donate supplies is Wednesday, August 24.
