King Blasts Rubio's NY Visit

Seaford Congressman hammers Sen. Marco Rubio, who came to New York asking for money after fighting Sandy relief.

Rep. Peter King, whose district includes many south shore communities battered by Sandy, said Sen. Marco Rubio's fundraising in New York should be ignored by would-be donors.

The Seaford Republican said, "It’s bad enough that potential Republican presidential candidates voted against Hurricane Sandy aid, that’s inexcusable enough. But to have the balls to come in and say, ‘We screwed you now make us President?’"

King also told the Daily News in an email that "They cast their vote against us, so I think we should vote no on them. "Don’t give them a nickel!"

King has aggressively fought fellow Republicans who stood against Sandy-related funding for the New York area.

Last December, King took shots at Majority Leader John Boehner when the House didn't originally vote to free up federal money for Sandy relief.

"Anyone from New York or New Jersey who contributes one penny to the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee should have their head examined," King told CNN late last year.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.
