King, CNN Anchor Spar Over 'Apology Tour' Comment

Congressman defends remarks saying President Obama has apologized for past U.S. policies in the Middle East.

Rep. Peter King, R-Seaford, and CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien got into a heated discussion Monday morning on the cable news network over King’s assertion the President has apologized for past U.S. policies in the Middle East.

According to a report on rawstory.com, following the recent violence at several U.S. embassies in the Middle East and elsewhere over an anti-Muslim video on YouTube, several prominent Republicans including King said President Obama spent time during his first term on an “apology tour.”

During the CNN interview, O’Brien asked King, “What specific apologies are you talking about?”

The congressman responded, “I would say when [the President] was in Cairo in 2009, when he was basically apologizing for American policies, saying American policies sometimes had gone too far.”

O’Brien responded that the President in the speech mentioned by King did not use the word “apology” and never once said, “I’m sorry.”

King is such a blowhard. So glad I'm no longer in his district

We are all entitled to our opinions. i feel he tells it like it is.And regardless where he is, he is still a congressman.

Soledad is far left, and gets emotional and angry at anyone she disagrees with.

Another racist reporter that is an Obama shill... This is the same women who was trying to say Derrick Bell did not hold racist beliefs...

Why won't King cite exactly what he calls an apology? Rhetoric is easy, facts not so much.
Guy Noir September 18, 2012 at 12:07 PM
The American people know exactly what he's talking about. He began his administration with a world tour in which he dwelled on American sins and bowed to foreign leaders. The media were fine with it, but that doesn't mean the American people were.

With precious few exceptions, this country has been screwing up internationally since the overthrow of the democratic government in Iran in 1953. Perhaps we owe a few apologies to the people who have been oppressed by authoritarian rulers we long supported.

To Boy Noir: That's the whole purpose of journalism.... to hold politicians' feet to the fire,& demand proof. 95% of American journalists dont do that anymore. But they still do in other nations. You may recall how W. was totally lost when he got REAL adult questions about the Iraq invasion from the conservative Brit press. They werent having any of the lies. The American conservatives were outraged that the Prez was getting Real Questions! How dare journalists demand proof!!! It was hilarious to watch because the American press had laid down and took dictation from the Prez ( who took dictation fr. Cheney) over Iraq. And we all know how that turned out .... because the press didnt do its job and question leaders. Ooops.. US's biggest blunder evah & only a huge deficit resulted. So a glimmer of real journalism is hurting you badly, Mr Noir. Aaaaaww! Listen to the speeches Obama made and hear the actual words ... there were no apologies made. Petey King's opinions are being challenged because he is stating them as fact. Welcome to The World of Adults, Mr King and Boy Noir!

I think the majority of people agree with Mr. King. He speaks the truth and I honor him. It's fine if you disagree with me, but you cannot disagree with this (the truth): http://bit.ly/OaU052

M. Dean, In the "world of adults", we don't give people silly nicknames to try to insult them. Soledad doesn't "hold politicians' feet to the fire", she coos over those politicians she likes and becomes hostile and emotional with those she dislikes. She's partisan to the point of being simply a Democrat voice on TV.
