Peter King to Form PAC
Republican lawmaker to make announcement in New Hampshire.
Rep. Peter King is reportedly set to create a political action committee.
The Seaford Republican, who is considering a presidential bid, will make the announcement Monday in New Hampshire, home of the nation's first presidential primary, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
The PAC, called American Leadership Now, will aim to boost 2014 candidates whose views are in line with King , who has been critical of Tea Party leaders.
“It’s a vehicle that will enable me to go around the country to try to find like-minded Republicans who do not support a government shutdown, who do not support Ted Cruz’s whole idea of a government shutdown, of Rand Paul being isolationist,” he told Politico.
King said he has not made a decision yet on a 2016 White House bid but will appear at two events in New Hampshire Monday.
