Powering Up in Seaford

The Town of Hempstead has unveiled several solar paneling projects, including one in Seaford. How much of an impact will they make?

Seaman's Neck Park in Seaford is playing a starring role in a new  energy initiative  announced by the Town of Hempstead.

The park will be home to a solar tracker system which energizes offices and a garage.  There are also similar projects in Bellemore and Merrick that are being funded by a grant from the state.

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray says these projects will reduce the Town's carbon footprint and the renewable energy will save tax payer money.

We want to know what you think about the projects. How much of an impact will they have?  Would you like to see more of these types of projects, or do you feel they're not effective?
