Proposed Seaford Library Budget Heads to Voters

The Seaford Public Library’s proposed budget for the 2013/14 fiscal year will head to voters this Wednesday.

The library’s $2.1 million spending plan is a slight increase of $93,501 over the current budget. Library officials said if approved, the average Seaford homeowner would see an increase of $2.02 in their taxes.

From the Seaford Public Library annual report to the community: 

"The Seaford Public Library Board of Trustees, administration and staff are very appreciative of the support the community has given in supporting a wide variety of programs, services and resources during the past year. Keenly aware of the library’s mission to provide quality materials and information resources for individuals of all ages in the community, they are also committed to fulfilling this important mission in a financially and prudent manner." 

Voting on the 2013/14 budget is scheduled Wednesday from 1-9 p.m. at the Seaford Public Library on 2234 Jackson Ave.
