Seaford Eagle Scout Honored by State Senate

State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, introduces resolution honoring Richard Grant Canter for his achievement.

The New York State Senate recently passed a legislative resolution honoring Seaford resident Richard Grant Canter for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

The resolution recognizing Canter, who is a member of Boy Scout Troop 239, was introduced by State Se. Charles Fuschillo. For his Eagle Scout project, Canter successfully developed and executed a community service project to restore the 2,400 square-foot Children’s Garden of Remembrance at in Seaford. The garden is a memorial for deceased members of the church and the surrounding community, including victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

“He is a community-minded young man whose perseverance and determination will no doubt enable him to achieve any goal he sets for himself,” said Senator Fuschillo of Canter. “I am pleased that the New York State Senate has recognized Richard’s remarkable accomplishment and congratulate him on this distinguished honor.”
