Seaford Public Library Budget Vote Set for Wednesday

Voting scheduled from 1-9 p.m. on library's proposed $2 millon spending plan.

The proposed 2012/13 budget will be decided by voters this Wednesday.

The library’s $2,049,577 spending plan is an increase of $61,496 over the current budget. If approved, the tax levy would increase $1.9 million, a jump of $32,898.

Library officials said the budget would equate to around a $5.34 increase for the average homeowner in the community.

Also on the ballot Wednesday will be incumbent library trustee Patricia Coughlin, who is running unopposed for a new five-year term.

Voting is scheduled from 1-9 p.m. at the Seaford Public Library on 2234 Jackson Ave., Seaford.
