Wantagh Resident Tapped for MTA Board

John J. Molloy appointed by Gov. Cuomo to represent Nassau County on 16-member board.

A Wantagh resident has been tapped to represent Nassau County on the MTA board.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo chose John J. Molloy of Wantagh to be Nassau’s represenative on the 16-member board, which votes on issues impacting the MTA’s agencies such as service changes and fare increases. Molloy, 67, was recommended to Gov. Cuomo by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano.

Molloy’s appointment was approved by the State Senate on June 21.

“My administration is committed to recruiting highly qualified candidates to serve in New York State government,” said Governor Cuomo in a statement about Molloy and multiple other appointments for his adminostration that were approved by Albany lawmakers. “I welcome this remarkable group of men and women who will be bringing their talents to help government perform and deliver results for New Yorkers.”

Molloy is the former chairman/CEO of H2M, a Melville-based full-service consulting and design firm.
