Heavy flames and extreme heat along with zero visibility and the absence of a protective hose line presented quite a “challenge” for Ex-Captains Ronald Chowske and Thomas Bloomfield on their quest to rescue two victims. Consider the challenge accepted.

Without hesitation, Ronald and Thomas rushed in through the front door. As conditions deteriorated and the fire continued to spread, Ronald and Thomas found an 80-year-old man in the corner of a room.

As their fellow firefighters made their way out of the home, Ronald and Thomas dragged the victim outside. The men continued efforts to revive the victim until medical personnel arrived. The second victim was soon saved by other rescue personnel. The two victims survived thanks to the fearless rescue efforts and selfless determination of Ronald Chowske and Thomas Bloomfield.
