Weigh in on Fuschillo's Resignation

The longtime State Senator has resigned. What type of person should replace him.

The South Shore is going to have a new face in Albany after 16 years.

Longtime State Senator Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, announced last week that he was stepping down at the start of 2014.

Fuschillo became a strong force in the the state legislature, heading up the transportation committee and sponsoring legislation such as "Leandra's Law," which made it a felony to drive drunk with a child passenger.

He's moved on to become CEO of  the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

His seat in Albany will remain vacant until November unless Governor Cuomo calls a special election.

We want to know what type of candidate you'd like to see represent the area. Would you like to see you lawmaker continue to support the types of legislation Fuschillo supported or would you like to see a change?  If so, what type of change would you like to see?
