New Subway Restaurant Planned for Seaford

Sandwich chain set to open up at former pet store on Sunrise Highway.

The Seaford community is set to get its second Subway Restaurant.

The national sandwich chain will be opening up shop at the old Viva La Pets store in Seaford Plaza on 3850 Sunrise Hwy. BBC Construction LTD obtained a building permit from the Town of Hempstead on July 31 to construct the new Subway, which is located next to L.I. Tanz and Bravo Jewelry.

Officials for BBC Construction LTD and Subway did not return calls seeking comment on what the time table is for opening.

The other Subway located in Seaford is on 3785 Merrick Road. There are also two Subway locations in Wantagh on 1887 Wantagh Ave. and 739 Wantagh Ave.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
