Children's Author David Adler visits Seaford Harbor School

Creator of the Cam Jansen mystery series visits with local elementary school students.

recently welcomed well-known children’s author David Adler, creator of the Cam Jansen mystery series as well as many picture book biographies.

During weekly library periods, students at all grade levels prepared for Adler's visit
by participating in read alouds, creating their own timelines and conducting student interviews to see first-hand what it might be like to be a biographer. They also prepared questions for Adler asking what life is like for an author and how he finds his inspiration.

“This was a fantastic literacy event, which provided a real-world reading and writing experience for our students,” said Seaford Harbor School librarian Tara Gonzalez.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
