Golf Tournament to Benefit Local School for Special Children

The Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford to hold its annual fundraiser on June 20 in Sands Point.

The Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children in Seaford will be holding a golf tournament fundraiser later this month at Sands Point Golf Club.

The golf tournament is scheduled for June 20 and the registration deadline of June 10 is fast approaching.

For over 40 years, Hagedorn has been regarded as one of New York's leading programs for students with developmental challenges. The school provide educational and therapeutic services for children as young as infants through age 11.

The Hagedorn Little Village School has moved locations throughout the years, including stops in Baldwin and Garden City and started with only three children. Seaford is now it's home on 750 Hicksville Rd.

"We've been in this location for nine years now, and we're here to stay," said Maureen McElwreath, Hagedorn’s Coordinator of Research & Development.

Participating in the golf tournament fundraiser is $550 per person and $2,000 for a foursome. Food and drinks will served, as well as raffles and prizes. People who cannot take part in the tournament can attend the cocktail and dinner portion for $150.
