A previously scheduled Massapequa High School reunion at a Seaford restaurant this Saturday has now been turned into a fundraiser for those impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

The Nov. 17 Class of 1977 Massapequa High School reunion is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. at Runyon’s, which is located on 3928 Merrick Road, Seaford. Proceeds from the reunion fundraiser will go toward graduates of Massapequa High School and the former Berner High School who have been hit hard by Superstorm Sandy, according to organizers.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
