Lee Road Students Donate Supplies to Soldiers Abroad

Youngsters at elementary school in Wantagh take part in Levittown Educators Against Destructive Decisions Week.

A group of students at in Wantagh recently provided assistance to soldiers fighting abroad as part of Levittown Educators Against Destructive Decisions (LEADD) Week.

With the help of American Legion Post 1711 in Levittown and veterans Andy Booth and Frank Colon, the school’s Community Service Committee collected several large boxes of travel-size toiletries. The donations were sent to the men and women serving the country overseas.

Also during LEADD Week, Detective Pamela Stark from the Community Affairs division of the Nassau County Police Department spoke to fifth-grade students at Lee Road about healthy choices and the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
