Report: Seaford Teen Died of Strep Infection

Joseph Tutaj's death deemed "natural" by Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

The Seaford High School student who died unexpectedly while on a band trip in California, passed away from "invasive streptococcal infection," the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said Friday.

According to Newsday [paid link]:

Joseph Tutaj died Feb. 19, less than 24 hours after being admitted to Ronald ReaganUCLA Medical Center with a high fever.

The coroner's office also stated that the 15-year-old also had an enlarged heart, but that the cause of death was "natural."
