Retiring Seaford Educators Honored

Seaford School District recognizes three women with a combined 91 years of professional experience.

Three Seaford educators with a combined 91 years of professional experience were honored last week by the district they have called home for decades.

The Seaford School District recognized the retirements of Susan Kaiser-Chrisman, Patricia Sigler and Carol Yablonsky during the June 20 board of education meeting.

“Ninety one years of professional experience is not going to be easy to replace,” said Seaford Superintendent Brian Conboy when giving his tributes to Kaiser-Chrisman, Sigler and Yablonsky.

Kaiser-Chrisman worked as a special education teacher at Seaford Middle School going back to the late 70s.

“It’s been my pleasure to serve the community of Seaford for such a long period of time,” she said in remarks during the June 20 school board meeting.

Sigler worked as a psychologist at Seaford Harbor School. Her career in Seaford dated back to 1980.

“It has been my privilege to work in Seaford,”Sigler said. “Thank you for this opportunity.”

Yablonsky taught at Sewanhaka High School before moving to Seaford in 1981. The Hofstra University graduate taught business classes at Seaford High School.

Seaford Board of Education Vice President Richard DiBlasio thanked the three retirees by saying, “thank you for dedicating a good portion of your life toward the children of Seaford.”
