School Board Elections Set For Wantagh and Seaford

Three candidates in each district submit petitions before Monday's 5 p.m. filing deadline.

Both Wantagh and Seaford will have contested school board elections in a month with three candidates in each district filing petitions prior to Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline.

In Wantagh, incumbent school board member Michael Cucci will be running for another three-year term but trustee Ann-Marie Sturniolo opted not to seek re-election. Seeking to win election to the Wantagh Board of Education for the first time are Michael Soethout and Mitch Zerner.

In Seaford, incumbents Brian W. Fagan and Richard G. DiBlasio are running for a new three-year term on the board. At last July’s school board reorganization meeting, Fagan and DiBlasio were selected president and vice president, respectively. Challenging the two incumbents is Laura Phillips.
