Seaford Harbor School Teacher Recongized for Devotion to Students

Seaford Harbor School teacher Susan Ward recently was recognized for her dedication and devotion to students with a “Viking Helmet.”

The handing off of the Viking Helmet is a tradition started by Seaford Superintendent Brian Conboy last September to honor teachers in the district who go above and beyond in their devotion to students. The first Viking Helmet recipient was Seaford High School teacher Kevin O’Reilly. Conboy asked that the helmet be passed along to other worthy teachers and O’Reilly selected Ward last month to be the second recipient of it.

“Sue Ward has been described as professional, hardworking, innovative, and the creative force behind the multi-age classroom,” said O’Reilly in remarks delivered during a Seaford Harbor School faculty meeting when announcing she would be receiving the Viking Helmet. “She does an outstanding job of creating the solid foundation upon which her student’s entire educational careers are built.”
