Seaford High School Homecoming Details Announced

Come watch the parade and cheer on the Vikings.

Come and show your support for the Seaford Vikings as they face off against North Shore at Seaford High School’s Homecoming Game on Oct. 19.

Game time is 5 p.m., but spirits will be running high earlier in the day as family and friends come out for the Homecoming parade. Step off time is 3 p.m. at the Seaford Public Library on Jackson Ave. The parade continues east on Merrick Road and north on Washington Avenue to Keily Drive and ends at Seaford High School.

This year’s theme is “God Bless America: A Tribute to our Heroes.” The U. S. Army Color Guard will lead the parade followed by an Army Humvee, the Grand Marshals, the high school marching band, a convoy of class floats, teams, clubs and community organizations.

“Homecoming is one of the grandest displays of school and community pride,” said Seaford Athletics Director Tom Condon. “The Booster Club has selected as this year’s Co-Grand Marshals MaryAnn Gorman and Coleen Graziose, two past presidents of the Manor PTA and PTSA who remain extremely active supporters of Seaford and are true ‘heroes’ of the community.”

Once the parade ends, the Booster Club will be selling school apparel and refreshments near the football field. Flags from the Field of Honor will line each end zone in preparation for the pre-game ceremony that is sure to be a spectacle of patriotism and pride. A half-time show will recognize the winning float, the Grand Marshals, the Color Guard and announce the Homecoming King and Queen.
