Seaford Schools Celebrate Flag Day

Elementary schools hold patriotic ceremonies to honor holiday.

Seaford Manor and Harbor elementary schools both were filled with red, white and blue last week when students celebrated Flag Day and paid tribute to the many freedoms the flag represents.

The American Legion War Veterans demonstrated flag etiquette at Seaford Harbor School on June 12 and students sang a medley of patriotic songs as they waved red, white and blue plates to the music. The American Legion War Veterans also visited Seaford Manor School where Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray participated in the Flag Day celebration. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the American flag, which took place on June 14, 1777.
