Seaford Student Named Scholar-Artist

Deanna DiGiulio honored by the Long Island Arts Alliance.

A Seaford High School senior has been named a scholar-artist  by the Long Island Arts Alliance.

Deanna DiGiulio was one of 20 students from around Long Island to receive the award given to students who exhibit the highest level of artistic excellence and academic achievement.

She was one of two students in Nassau County and one of four on Long Island who won the award in the Visual Arts category.

“I am really grateful to receive this award she said. “I’ve loved art all of my life; since I first picked up a pencil.”

Deanna has studied several disciplines.

She's taken figure drawing at the Huntington School of Fine Arts and ceramics at Adelphi University.

“Deanna really pushes herself to explore all types of art courses, from sculpture to figure drawing to computer graphics,” said art teacher Donna Manning, who nominated her for the award.
