Seaford Students Perform in All-County Music Festival

Nearly 50 Seaford students take part in Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Music Festival at Tilles Center.

Nearly 50 student musicians from Seaford School District showcased their talents in the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Music Festival at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of LIU Post.

Students were selected for the festival based on their New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) evaluations and teacher recommendations.


“These students epitomize the talent and commitment it takes to perform at this advanced level,” said Superintendent Brian Conboy. “The rising number of Seaford students selected for All-County, All-State and All-Eastern ensembles in recent years is a testament to our dedicated staff and their efforts to put forth a high-quality music program, even during challenging budget years.”

The following is a list of musicians, their grade levels and instruments:

  • From Seaford High School: Band members Henry Cheung, grade 10, alto saxophone; Samridhi Grover, grade 10, bass clarinet; All-Eastern and All-State musician Melanie Koulias, grade 12, bass clarinet; and Emily Word, grade 10, Bb clarinet; chorus member Andrea Williams, grade 10, alto, and mixed chorus members Steve Andruseaski, grade 12, tenor; Zulfiya Asquino, grade 12, soprano; Richard Dupkin, grade 12, bass; All-State musician Paul Franco, grade 12, bass; All-State musician Matthew Ho, grade 11, tenor; Dana Liuzzi, grade 11, soprano; Alex Luber, grade 12, bass; Danielle Murphy, grade 12, alto; and
  • From Seaford Middle School: Band members Matthew Amarante, grade 6, tenor saxophone; Jessica Strong, grade 8, Bb clarinet and Sarah Umstadt, grade 8, flute; and chorus members Theresa Bonafede, grade 7, alto; Arianna Casha, grade 6, alto; Alexandria DeMott, grade 7, alto; Samantha DeMott, grade 8, alto; Jacqueline Galison, grade 6, alto; Melissa Garneau, grade 8, alto; Christopher Ho, grade 8, soprano; Lauren King, grade 6, alto; Kayla Marino, grade 8, alto; Corey Marks, grade 6, alto; James Murphy, grade 7, alto; April Pensa, grade 8, alto; Nicole Pidherney, grade 6, alto; Melissa Schoenig, grade 6, alto; and orchestra member Juliana Groder, grade 8, trumpet/cornet.
  • From Seaford Harbor Elementary School: fifth-grade band member Mark Armano, alto saxophone; and fifth-grade soprano chorus members Georgianna Cadieux, Hailey Galison, Elizabeth Greco, Vanessa Grieco, AnnaRose Matalone, Victoria Reid, Emily Schiller, Anthony Sinisgalli and Olivia Tice.
  • From Seaford Manor Elementary School: fifth-grade band members Liam McDonald, snare drum and Jessica Strong, Bb clarinet; and fifth-grade chorus members Carly Corsitto, soprano; Danielle Fisher, alto; Liam McDonald, soprano and Grace Rail, alto.
