Seven Candidates File for Wantagh School Board Race

Seaford school board election is uncontested.

It will be a busy 2013 school board election season in Wantagh and much quieter in neighboring Seaford.

Seven candidates filed to run for two available board of education trustee seats in Wantagh prior to Monday’s 5 p.m. filing deadline. In Seaford there will be an uncontested race after only incumbent trustees Bruce Kahn and Jeanmarie Wink submitted paperwork to be placed on the ballot for the May 21 election.

Of the seven Wantagh school board candidates, only William Russack is an incumbent, who will be seeking his third term. Incumbent trustee Jean Quinn announced last month she would not running for reelection.

Joining Russak as the other six Wantagh school board candidates are Michael Costello, David Hoffman, Donald Lang, Kera McLoughlin, Peter Mountanos and Ralph Spagnolo. The top two vote-getters will win three-year terms.
