Three Kids Onboard Unharmed in Wantagh Bus Accident

Three elementary and middle school students were aboard a Levittown School District school bus when it was involved in an accident on Sunrise Highway east of Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh Monday morning.

"No one was injured," said Cathy Rust of the Levittown School District Transportation Department.

The bus was headed to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Bellmore, Rust said.

Rust was at the scene when the school's principal arrived and the children were released and brought safely to school.

"There was no damage to the bus," she said.

Rust said she believes the accident was caused when the school bus was rear-ended by a sedan.
